Summary of 2023 Giving:

In 2023 we supported three organizations. Here is some information on the work they do and how they align with the Chip Hooper Foundation’s mission.

Boys and girls club of monterey county

The Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County offers a safe, affordable, and supportive environment for youth during after-school hours. Its mission is to help all young people, especially those most in need, realize their full potential as responsible, caring, and productive citizens. The organization emphasizes three key areas—Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles—through community programs, mentorship, and quality services for youth from diverse backgrounds, making the club a vital safe haven.

The Chip Hooper Foundation plans to continue to support the Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County through the MC Gives donation-matching program in order to double our impact.

Shooting Touch

Shooting Touch is an organization that operates both in Boston and in Rwanda. They operate under the philosophy of using sports as a vehicle for youth development. Their mission is to advance young women towards healthier futures by using the power of basketball. Max Hooper has gotten to know the founder of this organization and is amazed by their continued work.

Gateway mountain center

Gateway Mountain Center is an organization dedicated to introducing young people to the transformative power of human connection and nature immersion. Their goals are to “support the emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being of all young people — regardless of where they come from, their life experiences, and their physical abilities. [Their] work happens in all the places where young people need this support. That includes working with schools, collaborating with community groups and youth organizations, offering services at our community wellness center, and delivering our clinically supervised, nature-based, therapeutic mentoring program.” (https://gatewaymountaincenter.org/about-gmc)
